The Terlingua Getaway is an adobe house, completely renovated in 2008, in the shadows of the dramatic
terrain of the Big Bend area of Texas. Located at the base of the East Corozones Mountain peak, the
house sits on 20 acres and provides both comfort and solitude. This is an spacious alternative to the
motels and other accommodations in Study Butte or Terlingua.
For those seeking to explore West Texas, the house is located just 30 miles from the west entrance to
Big Bend National Park. Study Butte and Terlingua ghost town . There are also spectacular hikes and drives
near the getaway.
This rental provides a true escape from everyday life. Air conditioning, ceiling fans, heaters, full-size
range and refrigearator, shower, deck, carport, etc. provide the comfort that you can enjoy in the rough
terrain of the Big Bend.
Great Recommendation: We had guests that tried the getaway in May. They immediately made
reservations for the the Terlingau Chili Festival and for the Christmas/winter break.

Getaway - May 2009, a.m.
The various seasons provide a broad variety of desert beauty. Spring and summer often bring cactus and
other blossoms. Perhaps the most entertaining and unpredictable are the clouds and the beautiful sunsets.
The getaway, true to its northern Chihauhaun desert climate, has dozens of species of cacti. Ocotillo,
yucca, many varieties of prickley pear, strawberry pitaya, devil's claw, and rainbow cactus are in
abundance on the property.
